Silent Auction 2019 - How Does it Work
Once you arrive to Family Weekend, make sure you stop by the Garnet & Gold Silent Auction at 1851 (824 West Jefferson St. – first floor of Azalea Residence Hall) from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. Upon arriving, you will be greeted by members of our Family Connection Council. We will have info sheets with important reminders for you to make sure you have the chance to win your desired items.
The Garnet & Gold Silent Auction features over 50 items, available for your bidding. Each item and its price has been assessed and set. From there, minimum bids and minimum bid increments have also been set for each item. If you find an item you really like and don’t want to chance losing it, there is also a “buy it now” price for each item. We have included a sample bid sheet below:
Each item has an accompanying bid sheet with the information listed above on it. Once you have decided to bid on an item, you will write your first and last name and telephone number (including area code) along with your bid amount in the corresponding boxes. Please make sure to write legibly and create a new entry for each bid you make, so we can accurately keep track of the bid amount and contact information. If you would like to “buy it now,” notify one of the New Student & Family Programs staff members and we will help you. If you have questions, staff members and Family Connection Council members will be available to assist you or answer any questions you may have.
Make sure to check back throughout the day in case someone outbids you! If you have been outbid, then we will notify you at 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm, giving you the opportunity to stop back by and bid again. All bidding will close at 7:00 pm and Family Connection Council members will notify the winning bidders via phone. We ask that you respond to the call within 30 minutes, otherwise, we will move on to the next highest bidder.
All items must be picked up by Friday evening at 8:00 pm. We accept check and all major credit cards, excluding Discover Card.
Additionally, if you would like to make a donation to the Family Fund, you can visit one of the Family Connection tables at 1851 and make a cash/check donation in person, or you can visit https://dos.fsu.edu/family/donate/family-fund/ and make a donation online.
