Office Spotlight: Office of Accessibility Services

Florida State University strives to be accessible and accommodating to every student on campus no matter their ability. This is why resources like the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) are essential to ensure an inclusive campus. Through the OAS, students with disabilities can find a variety of services that are designed to coordinate academic accommodations, enhance academic success, and ensure access to all phases of university life.

OAS provides individualized services to all students with documented disabilities, and academic accommodations are determined based on the documentation that is submitted by the student. All services through their main office are free of charge! The types of disabilities that OAS typically works with include, but are not limited to:

  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Blind and Visually Impaired

  • Learning Disabilities (LD)
  • Medical and Chronic Disabilities
  • Mobility Disabilities
  • Psychological Disabilities (e.g. depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, etc.)

  • Assistive technology lan
  • Common/study spaces
  • Emotional support animals

  • Housing accommodations
  • Note taking services
