If you are considering a major change as a new student, it is important for you to begin that process as early as possible.
Depending on your academic map progression, lower-division transfer students might be able to change their major, but it is important to discuss your options with an advisor first. To do so, please contact an academic advisor in the major you wish to change into. You can locate an advisor via the FSU Advisor Search at http://advisor.undergrad.fsu.edu/.
There are some majors you cannot elect to change into. Auditions are required of all applicants planning to major in music, dance, or the bachelor of fine arts (BFA) degree program in theatre. Prospective students should visit the websites for the College of Music (https://music.fsu.edu/) or the College of Fine Arts (https://cfa.fsu.edu/) for details. A departmental application is required of all applicants planning to major in animation and digital arts; motion picture arts-production; studio art or theatre. Prospective students should visit the websites for the College of Motion Picture Arts (https://film.fsu.edu/) or the College of Fine Arts (https://cfa.fsu.edu/) for details.
NOTE: It is important to explore this possibility prior to registering/attending New Nole Orientation.
