OAS announces new satellite office hours!
The Office of Accessibility Services at Florida State University strives to become a model program for students with disabilities in higher education. We are committed to developing innovative and comprehensive accessible priorities, initiatives, and strategies for Florida State University to become a campus, state, and national leader for Disability Services. Florida State University Disability Services fundamental vision is to create a campus community that is accessible and inclusive of all students, specifically students with disabilities.
To increase student success among the cohorts of students mostly identified at risk for retention and graduation (students with disabilities being one of these cohorts) creating a satellite office location will provide additional support for students with disabilities. Additionally, having a satellite office location within the Dean of Students suite will be essential to the development and success for students with disabilities. We plan to have a staff member housed at UCA 4100 a few hours per week. We will have set days and times for students to be able to register for services, have the review of their accommodations, or meet to discuss our services. This holistic approach will meet the students where they at, specifically those who are utilizing Case Management and Victim Advocate services, who may also qualify for SDRC services. We are excited for this new approach.
