Office Spotlight: Student Union

A pillar of the community since the 1940s, the Student Union helps all members of the community stay connected through dynamic programming and managing the physical spaces that we occupy. The Union serves as the “living room” of Florida State’s campus, providing services and conveniences that members of the FSU community need in their daily lives and creates an environment for getting to know and understand others through formal and informal associations.

We are elated to announce that the newly renovated Union will be opening this Fall! Campus partners and student organizations have already begun moving into their new spaces. With new dining locations like Pollo Tropical, Panda Express, Panera, and Brooklyn Pizza, there is something for all students and guests to experience. Our newly designed two-story bookstore will ensure all our students and guests have the textbook, school supplies, and FSU apparel needed! Along with new dining locations and the bookstore, the Union will also house Bowling and Billiards, our premier bowling center with twelve lanes available for students and guests to enjoy! Bowling and Billiards also offers full-sized billiards tables and various programs including the FSU Bowling Team, other bowling leagues, billiards tournaments, intramurals, cosmic bowling, and open bowling.

The Union will be home to various campus departments and organizations including Student Organizations and Involvement, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Government Association including our 7 incredible agencies (Asian American Student Union, Black Student Union, Hispanic/Latinx Student Union, Jewish Student Union, Pride Student Union, Veterans Student Union, and Women Student Union), and the multiple meeting spaces for members of the FSU community to use.

Outside of the physical student union, the Student Union department oversees the Askew Student Life Center, the Flying High Circus, Campus Event Services, Club Downunder, Union Board, and the Art Center. The Union is also responsible for programmed events such as Family Weekend, Circus Home Show Series, Spring Fling, and more.
