Student Email Upgrade
FSU is combining all student and employee email accounts in one system to make it easier for students to collaborate with professors, classmates and coworkers.
On the evening of May 4, all student email accounts will upgrade to @fsu.edu email addresses. After the change, your student will have a new Office 365 account and email mailbox and their email will end with @fsu.edu instead of @my.fsu.edu. This is where your student will receive all official university communications.
Your student’s new email will look like this: FSUID@fsu.edu
The new account will look and feel very similar to your student’s current experience. All their email account data, including mail, calendar and contacts, will be moved to the new @fsu.edu account.
After May 4, your student will need to set up their new email account on their computer, phone, tablet and other devices and update their account for Office 365 apps on all their devices and sign in with their new @fsu.edu email and password. They also will need to update their email for accounts such as Instagram or Amazon to point to their new FSUID@fsu.edu email.
Please talk with your student about this upcoming change and feel free to use the online resources and FAQs to make sure both you and your student are prepared.
