FSUCard - On Campus Access
For FSU students, getting their FSUCard at Orientation gives them access to so much on campus at Florida State. You can find a variety of programs and facilities created for FSU students that offer fun events and opportunities throughout fall and spring semesters. Here are a few that you can share with your student and make sure they are taking advantage of all of the things FSU offers!
Askew Student Life Center (ASLC). Inside the Askew Student Life Center, students can find tons of opportunities for downtime and hanging with friends. In the Student Life Cinema (SLC), students can use their Student ID to see recent blockbuster movies, indie films, and documentaries, among others, for free 5-6 nights a week. The ASLC is also home to Grindhouse Cafe, a coffee shop that offers delicious, affordable hot and iced coffees, small snacks, and tables and couches for students to use for studying or socializing. The Cyber Cafe contains 13 Alienware gaming computers for student use, as well as board games, 11 gaming consoles, and video game rentals.
FSU Reservation. Affectionately called “The Rez,” The FSU Rez Waterfront Park & Retreat Center is free to FSU students with their Student ID. This 73-acre facility is located on Lake Bradford and provides students with outdoor activities like canoeing, kayaking, picnicking, swimming, sand volleyball, disc golf, sailboating, and more! Watercraft rentals are free for students that have a valid student ID. In addition to the activities mentioned above, The Rez also has their Climbing Wall, hosts instructional clinics throughout the semester, and a recreation hall with game tables. Each year the outdoor facility hosts Rez Days, an opportunity for students to come out to the Rez and experience free food and exciting activities throughout the day. Most Rez Days are co-sponsored by a campus department or organization—so it’s a good opportunity to learn more about involvement opportunities and resources as well.
Leach Recreation Center. The Bobby E. Leach Student Recreation Center is located in the middle of campus and offers students a fitness facility for their own personal use. To enter, students have to present a valid Student ID. Inside Leach, students can find cardio and strength equipment, including nearly 100 cardiovascular machines and 6,500 lbs of dumbbells; sports courts for basketball, volleyball, and more; an indoor track where it's guaranteed not to rain on them; an indoor swimming facility; a spa complete with a sauna and two steam rooms; and an atrium area where they can grab a smoothie and snack post-workout.
Club Downunder/Union Productions. Club Downunder/Union Productions is a student-run committee that brings vibrant, unique talent to venues all around campus, and the events are completely free for students that present their Student ID. This year you can expect to find comedian Brandon Wardell, early 2000s duo Aly and AJ, alternative band The Band Camino, and more throughout the fall semester.
FSU Libraries. As long as your student has their Student ID, they have the ability to enter any FSU library on campus. With FSU Libraries, students are able to borrow materials and equipment like calculators, cameras, or even laptops as long as they have their Student ID; just remind them to return their items on time. Inside, the library offers group tutoring for subjects like math, chemistry, modern languages, and other topics. If your student needs a meeting space or somewhere quiet to study, Dirac and Strozier are home to study spaces where students can reserve a room for an allotted period of time. Additionally, FSU Libraries host informative and fun events and workshops throughout the semester! The hours of each library on campus vary, but Strozier is open for 24 hours most days of the week.
If your student doesn’t have an FSU Student ID or if they need assistance with theirs, they can visit the FSUCard Services website here.
