Beginning Fall Anew

The start of the Fall semester brings with it a great deal of reflection and preparation. Here at Florida State, we have been thinking over what went well over the last year and what changes we want to bring to the community and our programming this year. You and your student are most likely having similar reflections or preparations. For your student, this is an exciting and significant—some might say stressful time as they prepare to either start or continue their collegiate journey at Florida State.

Office Spotlight: Student Union

A pillar of the community since the 1940s, the Student Union helps all members of the community stay connected through dynamic programming and managing the physical spaces that we occupy. The Union serves as the “living room” of Florida State’s campus, providing services and conveniences that members of the FSU community need in their daily lives and creates an environment for getting to know and understand others through formal and informal associations.

Office Spotlight: Money Matters

The Office of Financial Aid assists students with securing federal, state, and institutional aid, as well as determining the eligibility and awarding of financial aid. Every year, more than $350 million dollars in aid is awarded to FSU students through scholarships, grants, work study, and loans. To be considered for financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 1 to apply for financial aid for FREE for the 2022-2023 academic year (FSU Code: 001489). Summer term students should complete both the 2021-2022 and the 2022-2023 FAFSA.
